The Bible has more to say about the second Commandment than it does about any of the other nine.
It is much easier to try to make God like ourselves than for us to become like Him.
Idols and images always place us in bondage to our own imagination, our own limited understanding and our own prejudices.
When I project an image upon a person, I cheat myself out of knowing that person as they really are.
God will not be enslaved by our mental images – we only enslave ourselves.

When we look at Jesus, we look at God.
Jesus Christ is the perfect image of God.
