God’s Text Message 10 Essentials for Love Text Message #8 Exodus 20:15
Text Message: dnt steal
“Do Not Steal.” Exodus 20:15
What does it mean to steal? It means to take that which belongs to another.
I. Do not steal another’s possessions.
II. Do not steal time.
There should be something different and special about Christian employers and employees.
III. Do not steal another’s honor and integrity.
When we say unkind and harsh things about another, we steal from them their most treasured possession – their honor.
When we withhold a tenth of our income from God, He says we are breaking the 8th Commandment.
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my temple. If you do, says the Lord almighty, I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Let me prove it to you.” Malachi 4:10
“Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.” Matthew 6:21
“Seek God’s kingdom first and all of these other things will be given to you.” Matthew 6:33
“What should I do if I have stolen something?”
1. Confess your sin to God.
2. Confess your wrong doing to the one you have stolen from.
3. If it is possible, make the wrong right.
4. Accept God’s forgiveness.
What would happen tomorrow morning if all church members in Portland began making restitution at work, school, home and church?
