Various Methods for Reading through the Bible in One Year:

There are a number of ways to read through the Bible. One way is to simply pick up a Bible, start in Genesis, and read straight through for the year, concluding with Revelation.

A second option is to read through the Bible in chronological order. The books in the Bible are not necessarily arranged in the order that the events happened. For example, many of the events in 1 Chronicles and 2 Samuel happened at nearly the same time, and also a number of the Psalms were written by King David in this time period as well. If you would like to further explore this option, go to the following link and click on Chronological. Also provided at this site are the options of reading through the books of Bible historically, or simultaneously reading through a portion of the New Testament and Old Testament.

Another interesting method is to read through different sections (or genres) of Scripture each week, but still read through the whole Bible in one year. The books of the Bible can be categorized into books of the Law, Prophets, Gospels, Epistles, etc. This is an interesting method that will give you a taste of a different category each week. You can also choose a modified plan of reading through just the Old Testament in a year or just the New Testament, or possibly reading through just the book of Proverbs in a month. These options, as well as many translations of the Bible, are outlined on the following website:
