Easter: A Change in our Lord’s Circumstances

Mark 16:1-7; Colossians 2:13-15

Easter is God’s announcement that our Lord’s circumstances have changed.

Easter is God saying, “Don’t be in too big of a hurry to print my Son’s obituary.”

The resurrected Lord is our God’s answer to the pathetic threats of man and Satan.

Jesus Christ has been installed by God the Father as the ruler of this universe, and he is to be acknowledged as such.

The same Holy Spirit, who invaded the womb of Mary and created the infant body of Jesus, now invaded the tomb of that hillside and recreated the resurrection body of Jesus.

The same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is available to you and me.

There is not a single account of anyone in the Bible being resurrected to a new life in Christ who did not know it.

Whenever God gives us the gift of new life through the Holy Spirit, he also gives us another beautiful blessing with it – forgiveness.

In the brilliant light of the resurrection, the cross, that awful instrument of death, has become our symbol of hope.

The glorious news of Easter is that God refuses to stay hidden in a graveyard. He is alive.   He is King. His Word and His claims have been vindicated. And the most incredible news of all – He has insisted on being our Redeemer.
