This summer we are enjoying a sermon series entitled got wisdom? on the intriguing book of James. Written to a group of frightened people going through tough economic times, this little book addresses many of the questions we face today. It is filled with practical wisdom that challenges us to examine our assumptions about tough times, relationships, trials, temptation, health, authentic religion, faith, anger and prejudice
This treasure chest of wisdom calls us to a life of joy, integrity and health. I am excited to examine this letter with you. We will all be challenged, stretched and encouraged. James does not have the gift of subtlety. He refuses to side step difficult issues or play the game of doubletalk. He is a breath of fresh air in our day of gimmicks, virtual reality and shallow relationships. He is a man on a mission and he dares to speak God’s message with refreshing candor.
